Due to complications from leukemia.
Excerpts from People Magazine:
"Veteran character actor Bruno Kirby died Monday in Los Angeles from complications related to leukemia, his wife, Lynn Sellers, said in a statement. He was 57 and had been diagnosed with the disease only recently. "We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from Bruno's fans and colleagues who have admired and respected his work over the past 30 years," his wife said in a statement on behalf of Kirby's entire family. "Bruno's spirit will continue to live on not only in his rich body of film and television work but also through the lives of individuals he has touched throughout his life. We ask that contributions be made in Bruno Kirby's name to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 6033 West Century Blvd., Suite 300, Los Angeles, CA 90045." Kirby is survived by his wife, father, stepmother Roz Kirby, brother John Kirby and stepbrother Brad Sullivan."
Rest in Peace.
