'Chappelle's Show- The Lost Episodes' Movie Review

Movie Review by Spicy Pants

I don't need to tell you how funnny Dave Chapelle is. If you have seen 'The Chappelle Show' before then you what a treat you are in for with 'The Lost Episodes'. And if you haven't seen it before Dave left the show then this DVD will leave you begging for more of his skits. Dave Chappelle has a way of getting us to laugh at ourselves. Whether we are Black, White, Asian or Hispanic. He plays on stereotypes that we are all sometimes uncomfortable with and has a way of making them funny and comedic. Which is something Dave obviously struggled with before he left his outrageously popular show.
The show addresses the issues he had playing the 'Black Pixie' (shown on the DVD) and how he wondered if "instead of sending up stereotypes if he was merely reinforcing them." They even go into the audience and let them say what they thought about The Chappelle Show and if the stereotypes on their show were more harsh on some races more than others. Some said it is good to laugh at ourselves, one woman thought the stereotypes of Afro-Americans was less forviging than that of the white characters played by Chappelle. She went on to say that the Fried Chicken, Watermelon scenes had been played out, and that the Caucasians were always portrayed as educated smart men, even if they were being made fun of. Hmm..that DID make sense. Another Afro-American woman stood up and said that it was not The Dave Chappelle Show's responsibility to educate people on racism and that it is a comedy show and people should treat it as such. I for one, agree with her. Watch this movie and laugh. I think that was Dave's intention.
My favorite skit was 'Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold.' Pt.1
One of the funniest skits ever regarding revenge. Years ago Dave asked a woman he was in love with to marry him only to find out that that night the bitch cheated on him. She ended up marrying that guy. So time goes on and Dave has become rich. Now he wants revenge on the woman who broke his heart. So he goes to her house, dressed to the nine's, brings her flowers and tells her that he has always loved her. He begs her to leave his wife and come to be with him. He says he will send a private jet for her in the morning. She arrives by his jet the following day and has an unexpected surprise. I guarrantee that you will laugh your ass off on this one.

All in all would Spicy recommend this movie?
Absolutely. This is not a DVD you should rent..this is one you should BUY for your own collection!
