The new Star Magazine hits the shelves on Friday. A source says about the two women, "It's a real catfight...They refuse to work together and hate being in the same room with eachother. Makeup and hair staffers have to schedule their times far apart."
The spat started when Nancy, 40, complained to management that Maria wasn't interested in becoming a journalist and that she "just wants to be a star."
Maria was hired on Access Hollywood last year while Nancy has been there for years.
